Care Free Attitude

Audible Escape
Read out of order as Ethan seemed the most interesting of the 3 brothers. Heroine has the best up lifting attitude towards life. Introduced to the Dare family side of another series. I will listen to that series only if Ms Dawe narrates. In this story, Ok dialogue but seems a bit on immature side. Lots of swearing that didn’t always seem appropriate, just flash or filler. This author may not be for me but since ms Dawe narrates, l am giving it a try. I do use 1.2 speed to match the drama. Give it a try.

cute older man, younger woman romance

Ethan Knight...oldest of the Knight siblings, widower, control freak. Sienna Dare...youngest of the Dare siblings, recent college grad trying to determine what's next in her life plan, a total planner. What happens when Ethan agrees to look out for his client's baby sister on a visit to NYC? The control freak loses control. Can anything come of this? The chemistry between Ethan and Sienna is hot but he can't seem to get past his dead wife's betrayal and can lose a great thing. When they find out that Sienna is pregnant, the tables are turned...now he wants more and Sienna isn't so sure. Cute, quick story.

Heroine is a collection of cliches

It's an endearing story & has some hot moments but there's zero growth for the leading lady.
Feisty...but in a so very cute way
Outspoken...but never too much
Virginal...but very open & worldly...even in her first time
A nimble, humble, petite, lovely, brilliant, spunky, ever wide eyed & appreciative blonde 23 year old virgin cancer survivor (all of these things are blatant in the 1st 20 mins so it's not a spoiler) who seems to excel in anything & everything she does each every time and only ever wants to help everyone everywhere in every way. I really wanted to like this story, but this girl is too perfect, too squeaky, too inspid, too one dimensional. The hero is perfect too, but is textured, flawed & has a bit of a growth arc that shows emotional range & facets of character development not explored in the heroine.

P.s. Describing the hero as "potent" one time is weird, but 3 times in a single book is kinda creepy & linguistically lazy.

P.s.P.s. It's not fair to call the lead character ever wide eyed. I think she squinted twice to show toughness or incredulity...but only in a completely adorable way of course.

All of this is just my opinion & the author has several Audibles so must be very well liked, but this was my first read from her. I felt let down.

Dare meets Knight that was good

The youngest Dare has a chance to move past the confines of her family or so she thought. She needed to find what she wanted to do with her life. She just never expected to find Ethan Knight my be the spark that pushes her forward. This for me was the meeting of two families. I got the Dares that I have loved for years and the Knight's that I just meet this year. I was satisfied. Narration worked just fine.

Dare you to listen

I Loved this book. Carly Phillips did not disappoint. What’s better than having a character from the best series to come into a new series. I have always wanted to know what happened to Sienna from Dare to Love books and this did not disappoint. You got to hear what is going on with the rest of the family and Ethan is great. These two are great as a couple and proves that age doesn’t matter and sometimes you don’t plan to fal in love and it just happens at the most oppertiune time. I love this series and cant wait for the nest release from Carly Phillips

So good!

I liked the storyline. The events in this romance make it a good read. I can't say more than that or I could give away something you a reader can enjoy.

Short and Simple

I read this as a stand alone, yet I didn't feel like I missed anything. The story started with instant attraction to love. Simple.

Loved the story, struggled with the narrator

I had read this book before listening to it and really enjoyed the story. However, the narrator left something to be desired. I did not enjoy her depiction of everyone other than Sienna because everyone was gruff and had a deep voice, even most of the other female characters. The deep gruff voices made it harder to hear them in the car where I listened to the book and just started to sound annoying as the story continued.

Meh...

It was a pleasant story, very predictable and just long enough not to make it repetitive and boring. Narrator was very good.

Great Dare Book

Absolutely loved it. The narration was super. Ethan finally got his head on straight and fell in love with Sienna. Highly recommended.
