Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: accidental pregnancy
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥.5

Super sweet and angsty! Harrison Dare and Winter Capwell had a fling while she was interviewing him for a story. Since they're now related to each other by marriage, they can't seem to stop bumping into each other and with the attraction as strong as ever, it's hard for both of them to stay away. It gets super complicated when she finds out she's pregnant and they decide to make a go of a relationship despite both being against relationships in general.

I enjoyed this book, especially in the context of the overall all series. This is definitely a family you become invested in. The characters had great chemistry, but I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more if the story started when they met and got together rather than just before they found out she was pregnant.

Can I preface this review by saying the McKay-Taggert Easter egg in here absolutely MADE MY DAY! That alone makes this a five star book Zach being my favorite Dare and knowing some of my favorite people from McKay-Taggert absolutely had me in shock. And the preview for his book explains how he’d know MDWM (I think that’s the proper order of initials

I am not usually the biggest fan of books that have the couple get together (or stay together) because of an accidental pregnancy. I like it when I believe that the couple would have been together and didn't need something else to get them to that point.

Winter and Harrison were a summer fling, and they agreed to end things, and then Winter realizes she is pregnant a few months later.

It's a pretty common story, but it also isn't as in this one the characters are both aware that they only reason they gave anything more a chance to develop between them was the pregnancy. This felt like an interesting twist in a trope that we are all really familiar with, and I found that their realization that the pregnancy allowed them to get rid of some of their walls made the book feel a lot more real.

The reader knows the connection was there, and that they were perfect for one another but fighting it, and then we get to follow along with them as they decide to make the relationship more.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

2.5 ⭐️⭐️✨

I’ve really been enjoying this series and I don’t know if it’s where I read this one out of order because it was going to expire in audible or if it was just the couple. I just couldn’t see the chemistry between at all. Other than Harrison Dare being mentioned in Xander and Sasha’s book I really didn’t know anyone in the book. I read them in all in order except for this one so had to skip ahead so I would still have access to it. That may be the reason or I may have just not liked it much anyway. It was just ok. I wasn’t crazy about the female narrator either. I still love the series, just not this book so much.

One night of passion leads to long-term consequences in this bad-boy with a heart of gold romance. Carly Phillips’s Dirty Dares series continues with the Bad oy of Hollywood becoming domesticated in the best of ways as he falls in love with the woman that he never saw coming. I have been with Carly through this entire journey through the Dare world, watching the family tree expanding and their friends and business partners finding love as well, but as each Dare finds their hearts stolen I find new and enchanting reasons to fall in love with the Dares. Winter Capwell has been keeping a secret for a long time, one that is about to change not only her life, but the lives of several of those she has come to call friends as well. But in the midst of the secret coming out and the scandal that comes with it, she finds herself unexpectedly falling back into bed with the sexy Harrison Dare, even though they both agreed that their summer fling was over. Now they are even more entwined as their relationships intermingle and the consequences of their unexpected night together bind them for life. But someone is after Winter and will stop at nothing to get her out of his life, in a very permanent way. Harrison and Winter fins themselves slowly falling in love, but can they admit their feelings for one another or will it be too late? Some trope are winner for a reason and this story is based around one that is becoming increasingly common, though personally not my favorite, but Carly Phillips manages to always give it her own unique spin and keep the stories fresh and enchanting.

Winter is a woman that values her independence above all else; raised by a single mother and taught to depend on only herself, she isn’t willing to lose her heart and depends on any man, even though she is drawn to Harrison more than any man she’s ever been with. She is sweet, sassy, and intelligent, even though she make mistakes, and finds herself more than once regretting decisions she makes in the heat of the moment. She was the kind of woman that I would love to have as a friends, supporting me and teaching me strength in the face of adversity, but I would be able to teach her that being vulnerable in love is not being weak. Thankfully she has friends like that and learns to open her heart to Harrison so that they have a chance at future together. Harrison comes off as the typical playboy in the beginning, but once he gets a heavy dose of reality, he comes to understand that not only is it time for him to settle into a love relationship, but that he wants that with Winter. He offers her the strength and sweetness that she needs to believe in a man, someone that she can lean on in moments of need, but that will support her when she fighting her own battles. I loved watching him interacting with his siblings and seeing how they supported him while also forcing him to grow up when the time came. The passion that neither Harrison not Winter are able to bank is apparent at almost all time when they are orbiting one another, but once they open their hearts it adds layer of beauty to the heat that is undeniable. I am dying for the last of the Dirty Dares, getting to see Zach fall under love’s spell and I hear there is a possibility of a new project in the works that might be interesting to read too! Exciting and action packed, Just One Fling will take you on a journey off two lovers that finally grow to understand that loving someone offer both strength and freedom, not the weakness they always believed it would.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

So, this is a story in a long series, but you don't necessarily need to read the books in order. However, with that being said, you would be missing out if you didn't read the previous books.

Winter is a reporter. She knows that her very existence is one that is going to throw her new friends' lives into disarray. Her biological family is one that is used to scandal, but Winter hates that she's the cause of this one.

Harrison is not looking for anyone. He's happy in his life. He loves his siblings, nephews and nieces and likes his life the way it's going. Winter is a wonderful woman, but after his interview with her, he doesn't think much of his answers.

When Winter and Harrison find out they are expecting, Winter knows that she can do it herself. Afterall, Harrison was very clear in his interview with her. However, when Harrison learns of Winter's predicament, he isn't so sure of his path forward.

These two have a cute relationship that is caught up in family drama, outside threats and swirling questions about love and commitment. Can these two truly be happy together or will co-parenting be in their future?

You will not be disappointed in the story, but I did find it somewhat predictable. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for this family.

I just love the Dare/Kingston family! Winter was a reporter that had interviewed Harrison in the summer and then they proceeded to have a summer fling. Summer had made good friends with Nikki and Derek, but eventually told them they were related to her. It was not a happy sight when she told her Senator father (who knew nothing about her) who she was, his wife lost it. I was so glad that Willow had found a family with Nikki and Derek since she had been alone with her mother all her life.

Winter and Harrison had both said they didn’t want any relationship or ties, but something changes everything. I was so glad that Harrison was such a good person so that when Winter started getting threatening messages, Harrison made sure she was protected. I loved that they were able to get closer, but did not like the reason why. You have to read this book! I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

**Audio Review**
Just One Fling by Carly Phillips was a sweet and swoony accidental pregnancy romance with light angst and so much love! We briefly got a glimpse of the start of Winter and Harrison's relationship at the end of Just One Taste, so I was eager for their journey to find their very own HEA. It did not disappoint, and I have another Carly Phillips favorite couple!

Samantha Cook and Jason Clarke narrate this audiobook, and both did an amazing job keeping the listener's attention throughout the entire book! Samantha's portrayal of Winter was vulnerable, passionate, and heartfelt as she coped with her surprise pregnancy and her growing feelings for Harrison. Jason brought a rich, warm tone to Harrison that made Hollywood's hottest playboy turned new father, super irresistible. (swoon!) Winter and Harrison had a slow-burning steamy chemistry that once reignited, was undeniable, and both narrators brought the heat!

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of an accidental pregnancy romance with a hot handsome actor, an inquisitive journalist, a surprise pregnancy, paparazzi encounters, reliable family help, possible stalkers, a Hamptons escape, slow burn steamy times, falling hard for each other, danger, secrets revealed, and a HEA that is definitely not a fling, then you will love Harrison and Winter's romance. I always look forward to more from Carly Phillips.

Just One Fling is the latest installment in Carly Phillips Kingston Family series and it's another fantastic addition.

Winter Capwell is a strong, independent woman, who is a talented writer that has landed an interview with known Hollywood playboy Harrison Dare. Following the interview, Winter and Harrison had a summer fling, but both of them knew exactly what it was and what it wasn't. When circumstances bring them back together, will fate make them find a way to make things work between them?

While Harrison comes from a large family with many siblings, nieces and nephews, he's never been one to see himself with a wife and kids. Winter on the other hand doesn't have the large extended family that Harrison does. Quite the opposite actually, she's just learned that she has some half-siblings that she's going to try to connect with, but it's anyone's guess how that will go. They both have their share of obstacles to work through, but will they make it in the end?

Just like Phillips always does, she takes you on quite the ride from beginning to end, but it's always an enjoyable one. There were some periods in this book when you held your breath hoping the characters would come to their senses, but in the end, they always did. This is definitely worth your time to pick it up!

Winter & Harrison are the sweetest and cutest couple I've read in this series so far! Their love was not easy and it made me suffer more than I expected, but I really enjoyed it, his story was VERY interesting, with some touches of suspense that gave it a twist and made me want the next book NOW!

Winter stole my heart from the first chapter: I didn't see the twist in her personal plot coming, the drama her character lived through, or the way she faced her pregnancy from the beginning of the book and until the end. Winter is an independent woman and journalist by profession, loves her dog and has finally found the family she deserves, has a big heart and I LOVED reading about her relationship with Nikki, that she supports her unconditionally and that she's ALWAYS by her side in important moments. It also broke my heart to read her trying to stay away from people to protect her heart, especially Harrison, and that moment when she is overwhelmed by the naturalness with which the Dares welcome her into his family.

I really liked Harrison too! although it has its little moment of crisis that hurts Winter's heart & insecurities, I fell in love reading him discovering her true feelings for her, and what he really wants from their relationship after finding out about her pregnancy. He's a kind man, with a good heart, who loves his family and who has a beautiful relationship with his brothers and sister, and I LOVED that with him Carly Phillips showed me another side of the situation that the Dares lived when they were little and their mom left and died.

The love between Harrison & Winter was the most beautiful, their relationship began in previous books as a summer meeting that ended, but neither of them could forget, after these, the two have a sexual encounter that changes their lives completely: an unexpected pregnancy that makes them close again, Harrison realizes that he wants Winter in his life, not only for the baby they are having together, because she gives him everything he didn't know he was looking for, and although the path they have is not easy and it made me suffer, it also let me see how beautiful they are together and much that they care about each other.

Winter's holding a secret and while keeping it in, she finds out she's pregnant. How did things get so crazy? She should never have fallen back into it with Harrison, but she just could not help herself. Now they're having a baby, and she has to tell her new friends her secret at the same time. How will everyone react, not just to the baby news, but her big secret?

Harrison has a charmed life - a wonderful family, an A-list career, and more women than he can count. He and Winter weren't looking for a relationship after their fling ended, but the news that she's pregnant has him rethinking everything. He's realizing he has feelings for her but knows he has a lot of work to do to convince her he wants to be with her, and not just because of their soon to come baby.

Winter is awesome - strong, independent, sweet, and so sassy. She more than kept Harrison on his toes, and tilted his world off its axis. Harrison really didn't know what hit him when she snuck her way into his life and heart. Their chemistry is off the charts hot, but more importantly, their emotional bond started iffy but developed into something unshakable. This series is amazing, I cannot wait for Zachary Dare's story next, Just One Tease.

Fun, light and sexy
5 stars

We’re now onto the 9th book in the Kingston Family series but are actually back to the Dare Family as we finally, hottest male actor in Hollywood, Harrison Dare gets his story. And the lucky girl for Harrison is reporter Winter Capwell, who we first met in book 7, Just One Taste. There is definitely character overlap with that book especially, although characters from most (if not all) of the previous books do turn up in this one. It’s hard for me to state with 100% certainty that the book stands alone, what with it being such a big, interconnected family - but the romance definitely does, which is ultimately what we’re here for!

Our story stars in something of a funny place with our two main characters having had a summer fling together, and another one night stand after that - none of which we got to see on page which was a bit disappointing. But never fear, Ms Phillips more than makes up for it later on! But we start off with revelations aplenty and then the pace never calms down from there.

Winter is an independent woman who likes to keep herself at arms length from people - but can never stop herself from getting too close. She’s a sweetheart - but a feisty one - and I liked her kindness, sass and her honesty in admitting, yes, I do want world’s hottest man, Harrison Dare in my bed.

And despite him being 100% fictional, I’m pretty sure Harrison Dare is still the world’s hottest man. He’s a former playboy actor but meeting Willow really changed his perspective. Like all the Dare men, he’s all in with Willow, even if her pregnancy reveal initially through him for a loop. It’s hard to dislike a strong, sexy, sweet man and, well, I didn’t.

It’s hardly a surprise in a Carly Phillips book but boy do our pair have chemistry. Even when they’re just pretending to be friends - or at least believe they’re only co-parents - there’s something so sweet yet so hot about our pair on page together. And making up for the lack of descriptions of the summer together or their subsequent one night stand, we get lots and lots of lovely sex sprinkled throughout the book like dirty sprinkles on a cherry topped sundae. My favourite.

There’s a bit of peril towards the end of the story as Willow is endangered by a crazy stalker. I figured out who it was almost from the moment it was mentioned, only to be proved so very wrong when all was revealed. Ach well, I don’t read romance to solve the mystery elements and all’s well that ends well.

We get a delightful epilogue which is especially good if you’ve also read Just One Taste - and then a tease for Zach’s book which always makes me so excited to continue on with this series. If, like me, you’re reading the series in order, you’ll love it that Harrison finally gets his story. And if you’re new to Carly Phillips, you’re sure to get a fun, light and sexy read that’s perfect for escaping for a few hours. Definitely 5 stars for this one.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the ninth installment in the series, and you have missed out if you have not read them all – such a great premise for a collection of stories, and this is another winner for me.

Harrison has long decided that he will not commit to anyone, as he fears that his father's genes run deep in him and he might do wrong by her. Recently however, one woman has been on his mind, and making him question if he can stay away.

Winter is an independent woman, brought up by a strong single mum, she is now alone in the world, and not about to relinquish her freedom – so Harrison was the perfect fling, as no worries about commitment there. Then everything is turned upside down by an accidental pregnancy. Thankfully she knows to tell him, and then we get to enjoy watching how it all plays out.

Understanding their backgrounds, and enjoying the family and friends who support them, makes this a lovely read. Watching them fall in love and acknowledge they have a future is delicious, and there is no shortage of passion and romance in their journey.

Very entertaining and lovely to catch up with old friends!

4.5stars-- JUST ONE FLING is the ninth instalment in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult KINGSTON FAMILY erotic, romance series- a series interconnected with the author’s Dirty Dare /Dare Nation series. This is actor Harrison Dare, and twenty-four year old journalist Winter Capwell's story line. JUST ONE FLING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Harrison and Winter) JUST ONE FLING follows in the aftermath of a summer fling between Harrison and Winter, and the revelation that Winter is the half-sister to Nicolette Bettencourt (Asher Dare’s wife). Winter Capwell grew up never knowing who her father was, and the discovery that her father is a US State Senator meant Winter had a number of half-siblings that she knew nothing about. Befriending Nikki Bettencourt came with secrets and lies, lies that are about to reveal the truth about Winter’s independent past but a summer ‘fling’ with Nikki’s brother in law Harrison ended, and several weeks later, Winter would discover she is pregnant with Harrison’s baby. Struggling to understand what happened and why, Harrison leaves a heart broken Winter to question where everything went wrong but once the announcement hit the papers, Winter would find herself a target of an unknown stalker. What ensues is the second chance romance and relationship between Harrison and Winter, and the potential fall-out as the threats against Winter become personal and deadly, revealing a connection to everyone she knows.

The relationship between Harrison and Winter began as a summer fling following an interview with our leading hero. As a journalist Winter wanted to report about the success of Harrison Dare but Harrison held back many secrets just as Winter held back many more. Together, Harrison and Winter would raise their child together but someone else is hoping to destroying our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is are large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many of the previous story line couples. We are reintroduced to Asher and Nikki; Asher and Harrison’s parents Serenity and Michael Dare, and their brother Zach, and Zach’s friend Raven, as well as Nikki’s brother Derek, and their parents Senator Corbin and Collette Bettencourt. Zach’s story line is next.

JUST ONE FLING is a story of secrets and lies, family and relationship, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is heart warming and engaging; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are charismatic and charming.

Just One Fling, book eight in the Kingston Family series by Carly Phillips, is a story of Harrison Dare, who is a hot Hollywood actor, and Willow Capwell, who met Harrison while interviewing him and the rest of the K-Talent group. Hollywood’s sexiest playboy meets intelligent and beautiful journalist Winter Capwell, who interviewed him during one summer when she did a feature on the Dare brothers. These two ended up having a little summer fling while the interview was going on, but both agreed that neither was looking for anything more than that, going their separate ways. They then have another one-night stand after Nikki and Asher’s engagement party, but again, Willow left Harrison before he woke up. Now, these two find themselves back in each other's lives as Willow is pregnant and Harrison is trying to figure out how he feels. Winter had made good friends with Nikki and Derek, but eventually told them they were related to her. When she told the Senator he was her father, who knew nothing about her, his wife lost it. It was wonderful that Willow had found a family with Nikki and Derek since she had been alone with her mother all her life. That’s a lot of news and family interaction and it’s a huge change for an orphan who never had a family. When the news breaks that Winter is pregnant with Harrison’s child shortly after being revealed as Senator Bettencourt’s daughter, Winter becomes the target of a hate campaign; receiving threats. Harrison is more determined than ever to protect the woman he loves.

Hugely entertaining, spiced with a little suspense, steamy moments, family love, and a cute little Havanese dog named Panda, to whom everyone caters to. It was great to see Harrison step-up and realize that Willow is the “One” and that he is willing to go the extra mile to win her love. He is the rock Willow didn’t realize that she needed while she deals with a pregnancy, getting to know her new family, and learning more about who her dad really is. These two are perfect for each other and watching their love and respect for each other grow throughout the book was beautiful to read about.

Ms. Phillips once again wrote a wonderful, sizzling, emotional, and heartwarming story with a bit of intrigue that is not to be missed. A tale rich with chemistry, magnetic attraction, complicated family connections, clever banter, and charming secondary characters giving Winter and Harrison a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Just One Fling to other readers and look forward to Zach’s story.

It only takes a fling to change the lives of Hollywood’s hottest actor and a journalist in Phillips’ latest release, Just One Fling. As the ninth book in The Kingston Family Series, preparer to go on an emotional roller coaster ride in this steamy romance that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

As a journalist, Winter Capwell, is used to being behind the scenes of a good story. But nothing could have prepared her for when her own story became the center of every media site. After finding out more about her biological family, a scandal breaks loose and she turns to the fling she had that summer. Having met Harrison Dare when she interviewed him, they couldn’t deny their sizzling chemistry and crossed the line of no return thinking that it would be just a summer fling. Neither of them were expecting for her to get pregnant in the process and now she is faced with the fact that her life will never be the same. His constant life in the spotlight starts to put pressure on her and it’s when she starts to get threatening letters that she sees a protective side of Harrison that has her falling for him. Yet, there is still someone out there threatening their chance at a happily-ever-after and they have to find out who it is before it’s too late.

I very much enjoyed reading Just One Fling, there is a bit of mystery amidst all the romance. It’s evident that the characters have a strong pull towards each other and their connection just keeps getting better as the book progresses. There are ups and downs on the way as they adjust to their new normal. Having Harrison’s baby puts Winter on the spotlight, which she is not used to. As for Harrison, he thought about having a family of his own. After all, he belongs to a pretty big family himself. But when he finds out that he is going to be a father, his immediate instinct is to protect Winter and the baby no matter what and that’s exactly what he is going to do. Getting to finally know her better, feelings start to change and he wants to make Winter his once and for all. Told in dual POV, we really get to see both sides of the story making it that much more enjoyable to read. There is so much more than just their romance and that’s what kept me reading until the until the very end. I would highly recommend checking out the book and any others from the author, you won’t regret it!

This book opens with the startling revelation that Winter is Derek and Nikki Bettencourt's half-sister. As expected, Collette Bettencourt goes ballistic given the way she's treated Nikki. She also tries to attack Winter, but Derek prevents it. Corbin reacted quite the opposite and in response, moves out and files for divorce. Mind you this is only half of what's going on in this book.

Harrison Dare hadn't been looking for a relationship when he and Winter hooked up while doing the in-depth interviews for K Talent Productions. He couldn't stop thinking about her though, and they got together again at Nikki and Asher's engagement party. He knew then something was on her mind, but she was already gone the next morning and they hadn't talked.

Winter's revelations and Corbin's actions triggered another scandal for the Bettencourt family. Fortunately, Nikki, Derek and Asher have all been there for her.

Harrison is looking forward to seeing Winter at this charity ball benefiting Future Fast Track for foster children. It's a costume ball and he definitely pushed it with a tuxedo and claiming to be James Bond. His look however is nothing compared to Winter's Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's, she truly took his breath away.

Unfortunately, she's light-headed and feeling nauseous so Nikki leaves with her. It's Nikki who makes Winter consider another reason for her illness. It seems before the engagement party Winter had been on antibiotics for a strep infection, she didn't even think of the possibility her birth control could be compromised. Now those results are in and Harrison definitely messed up with his response as his brothers let him know.

Of course, his ex Sharon has to go and mess things up more when Winter calls as he's finishing up auditions in LA. So instead of her asking him to be at her doctor's appointment she has Nikki accompany her. Harrison finds out and hopes to catch her there, not thinking of the possible consequences of his actions.

A swarm of paparazzi is avoided when Zach sees her before she gets close to her apartment after walking her dog. Now she has to figure out how to handle everything and Harrison, well he has to fix what he's broken.

This book has so much emotion, from laughter and tears to romance and sizzle. There's also a bit of drama and action to round it all out.

I can't wait to see what Carly has in store for us next.

Is it really just a fling?

It's time to return to New York, to the Kingston/Dare family. JUST ONE FLING is actor Harrison Dare and Reporter Winter Capwell's story. I've been dying for their story since their reactions at Nikki and Asher's engagement party. There's something going on between them, but what? Will the sassy reporter be the woman who is able to tame 'Hollywood's Hottest Player'?

Neither Harrison nor Winter were looking for a permanent relationship when they had their summer fling. What neither expected was to still crave each other, as another night together couldn't do any harm, or so they think. I loved Harrison and Winter, they had set ideas on how they wanted their lives to look, but when all that changed, they weren't afraid to alter the course. I love Winter, she's such a strong woman, facing a long kept secret head on with such bravado made me love her even more. She's a dog lover, how could I not? Harrison, that man was so swoonworthy. Like all Dare men he's very protective, especially when his and Winter's relationship deepens, and she is threatened. The chemistry and heat between them sizzles, it's sensually intimate and passionate. Their's is a second chance romance grown from mutual respect and eventually love.

JUST ONE FLING is not only about the relationship between Harrison and Winter, but it also uncovers a previously unknown relationship Winter has with Nikki and her brother Derek Bettencourt. Revelations bring outcomes that are unexpected, tearing a family further apart and putting lives at risk, building drama and suspense leading to a surprising result. As with all Carly's books, members of the Dare family make their appearance, and I have to say the men in that family still act like teenagers. I adore these family orientated books, there is always so much laughter and joy along with the tears and frustration.

JUST ONE FLING is an emotional, heartwarming story, laced with sizzling heat, sparking chemistry, suspense, intrigue, and an annoying yet loving and supportive family. Another wonderful addition to the Dare Universe, an unmissable read.

Just One Fling is the 9th book in the Kingston Family series book. It follows Winter and Harrison and picks up pretty much immediately where Just One Taste ended. Winter, a journalist turned friend of Nicki, admits to purposefully getting an apartment in her building so she can get to know her, but not for the reason everyone thinks. Winter is Nikki and Derek Bettencorp's half sister. Their father had an affair with Winters mother. The former Senator and Presidential hopeful is thrilled and stunned by this news, his wife (and Nikki and Dereks mother) not so much. It's revealed that SHE paid winters mother to have an abortion and disappear. You would think this is enough for a book, but on top of all this, Winter is pregnant with Harrison Dares baby from their fling. Winter is under the impression that Harrison doesn't want kids because of an off comment he made to her when she was interviewing him as journalist Winter. When Winter finally tells him, he says the wrong thing and ends up getting drunk with his brothers. They set him straight but he has a few days before he can talk to Winter. But like all HEAs, after some ups and downs they find a way to make it.

Like the rest of the series, this book follows the formula for the most part. I enjoyed it, but I think there is just too much intertwined now in these stories that it's starting to all blur together. I also felt like a lot of the story was rushed, like maybe it should have just been either the secret sister or the accidental pregnancy. I will say I spent most of the story thinking the threats were coming from one person and it ended up being someone I did not expect so that was a fun surprise. Overall, I liked it, if you are a fan of Carly Phillips and are invested in this series I would definitely recommend this book.

I listened to the Audio for an honest review. This book like the rest of the series was narrated by Samantha Cook and Jason Clark. They have both been doing this series since it started and I am personally glad to still hear them. I hope they continue to do any books that are remaining. Both Jason and Samantha are veteran narrators for me, I think they compliment each other very well and they both do a fantastic job doing the opposite sex characters.

*An advance reader copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.*

Writer Winter Capwell was assigned to write a feature article on Hollywood Playboy Harrison Dare and his new Production Company with Xander and Sasha Kingston. During the interview process, she had a summer fling with Harrison, which is all either one of them wanted. No strings, just fun. Once the interview was done, so were they.

But life has a funny way of getting in the way… First Winter has to let Nikki and Derek Bettencourt (we met the siblings in Nikki and Asher Dare’s book Just One Taste and then Derek got his own HEA in Just a Little Hookup) that she is their half-sibling, which was great soapy drama with the siblings’ estranged Senator Father and overbearing Mother. As she’s getting closer to Nikki and Derek, Winter finds out that she’s pregnant and only Harrison can be the father.

Harrison Dare loves his big family with all of his siblings, nieces and nephews. He’s not interested in a wife or kids. Of course, when Winter tells him her news and that he doesn’t need to be involved in the baby’s life, Harrison is taken aback. First, he had to get over the shock that he was going to be a father. Then he starts to realize that Winter is the only woman he could ever see himself having a family with. Now he just had to convince her.

There are a ton of obstacles to overcome for Winter and Harrison to get their happy ending. The question is if Winter can stop second guessing Harrison when he says he’s in this, not just for the baby, but for her. Between the pregnancy and her new-found siblings (even if one of them is marrying Harrison’s older brother) and father, is it too much for them to handle or will the two of them be better suited working through everything together?

I’ve been waiting for Harrison’ story and Carly Phillips never disappoints. I can’t believe we only have Zach Dare left in the Kingston/Dirty Dare family, but I’m hearing that his book may be the beginning of a new series, which makes me incredibly happy.

Just One Fling is a great romance novel that is sure to please fans of the genre. It's a heartwarming story about love, family, and second chances.

Winter Capwell is a successful businesswoman who knows all about billionaire Harrison Dare's bad-boy reputation. His all-pleasure, no-commitment rule worked well for her.
Why not taste the forbidden fruit?
It was a one-time thing - bam and goodbye.
But nothing is that easy for Winter

When Winter discovers she's pregnant she already knows from interviewing Harrison previously that the whole white picket fence is not in his plans. She thought she would be prepared for it when he hinted toward being there for his "responsibilities" - She wasn't
She did not want her child to be anyone's responsibility.
But a stalker places her in the overprotective care of Harrison
Can they figure out who wants to eliminate Winter and the baby before it's too late?

Phillips does a great job of creating two likable and relatable characters. Winter is a strong and independent woman though her past experiences do lead her to foot-in-mouth syndrome a few times.
Harrison was all Mr. Ego in the beginning which at times was a bit overwhelming but as the story progressed it was obvious it was a form of armor for him - a way to protect his marshmallowy goodness.

The chemistry between them is undeniable, and it was easy to root for them to find their happily ever after.

The plot was fast-paced and engaging
We have a bit of miscommunication that leads to some small bumps in the road - Some greedy gremlins - A bit of sabotage - Suspense which brought out the protective side of Harrison while also making him take a good look at his feelings

The supporting characters are well-developed and brought so much to the story. There were a couple of moments that played just on the edge of possibilities.
The ending was a bit predictable but hello...
it's all about the journey, right?
A great addition to the Kingston Family series and one I recommend for anyone who enjoys a solid romance that leaves its mark

This series is always fun and sexy, with memorable characters! I've been enjoying them so much!

Winter Capwell is a reporter, who has been hiding some pretty BIG secrets of her own. Secrets about her past, and a pretty big one about her future as well.

Harrison Dare is a Hollywood heartthrob, who comes from a very big, very rich family. He never really planned to have a family of his own, but fate has other plans.

Winter and Harrison had a brief affair over the summer, that took place in the background of some prior books in the series. They met when Winter interviewed Harrison and his partners about their fast growing production company. Things ended as they originally agreed, but it turns out Winter was left with an unexpected parting gift!

Winter and Harrison never stopped thinking about each other, but neither really thought they had a future together. The pregnancy forced them both to reevaluate their previous conclusions, and consider that maybe they could be perfect for each other after all.

I loved their banter, and their chemistry was top notch. I really enjoyed Winter's unexpected connection to some prior characters in this series, and how that played into a bit of a low-key suspense plot that was going on throughout the story.

This was a solid entry in this series, and I'm sad that there's only one Dirty Dare brother left!!

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This review is my personal opinion, voluntarily given.

***5 Stars***

After meeting Winter in Just One Taste, I was hoping that she’d get her own HEA down the road…and then she hooked up with a Dare and I couldn’t wait to see how THAT all played out and I have to say, I loved every moment with Winter and Harrison (and Panda). It was fun, flirty and heart warming (as well as panty melting) and the little twists and turns tossed in made this book a fun and interesting read.

I loved Harrison and Winter. Harrison may have the reputation of being a playboy, and lived up to it at one point, he is quite grounded (thanks to his family). He is protective, loyal and all about getting things done when he puts his mind to it. Winter is sweet, determined and independent. She has a good head on her shoulders and isn’t afraid to speak her mind on most things.

I loved Harrison and Winter together and their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun to experience. Even with their lives going a bit sideways, I really liked how they figured out what they wanted pretty quickly. There were a few hiccups due to assumptions being made, but once those were cleared up, they had a great flow and I really liked how they were there for each other no matter what.

This was simply a fun read. I loved that while there was a bit of an adjustment period when the “hey, I’m pregnant’ thing went down, the angst was on the low end…which was good considering everything else that was going on around them. I enjoyed catching up with Nikki, Asher, Derek and Jessica as well as Harrison’s family. The twists in here kept things interesting ~ some I saw coming, others not so much ~ but all were done well and now to wait patiently for Zach’s book to drop!

Just One Fling is the 9th book in the Kingston Family series by Carly Phillips, featuring a steamy surprise baby romance with a side of suspense. Winter Capwell knew the rules, when she got involved with Hollywood heartthrob, Harrison Dare, until unintended consequences changed everything. There’s still a connection and fire between them, but can they build a real relationship, or will insecurities, fears, and lurking danger get in the way?

I was so excited to jump back into the awesome world building of the Dare/Kingston world! The characters are so compelling and authentic, bringing plenty of witty banter, real emotions, camaraderie, and more. I loved Harrison and Winter together. I actually appreciated his fumbling reaction to the news. It wasn’t too terrible, but it made him seem more human. Picturing him trying to take care of her however she would let him was so sweet. Winter was such an admirable character, so sassy and strong, but vulnerable at the same time. My heart hurt for her, as she adjusted to being around so many caring people at one time. And don’t get me started on the steamy chemistry between them! Those Dare men never seem to disappoint!🔥🔥 I also really enjoyed the suspense aspect of the story, and the twists and secrets that came out! There was never a dull moment! Judging from the epilogue, Zach’s story is going to be a doozy, and I cannot wait for it!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oh, Winter, I wanted to give you a hug so badly. To have been raised by an amazing single mother is not easy. To always want to know if you look like your father or have some of his quirks. To find out who her father is and what kept him away made me mad and joyful about the fact that Winter has a chance to get to know him. Winter also has a chance with Harrison Dare, or at least a second chance. Having walls up because it’s hard to depend on people to be there for you. Having an independent, supportive mother helped in that aspect, but also makes it hard for Winter to fall in love. Thankfully, Harrison isn’t willing to let her go as easily again!

Harrison Dare may be on the big screen, but this role of father and hopefully one day making his baby mother his wife is one he is determined to succeed at. Being raised in the Dare family didn’t start off the easiest. Having an absent mother who preferred to be elsewhere than with her kids. Thankfully, his stepmother stepped up to the plate and loved him and his siblings as if they were her own. After finding out Winter is pregnant with his baby, he wants nothing more than to prove to her he is in it for the long haul. Especially when someone starts sending Winter threats.

This story was a little hard to get into and it wasn’t the writing. I felt for Winter and all she had been through, which brought up some things I have dealt with as having been raised by an attentive mother and less than present father. I felt her walls like my own and loved the way Carly wrote Winter in the end. Where even Harrison made her work for it!

At last, Harrison Dare! I was dying to read this story and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Hollywood’s sexiest playboy meets intelligent and beautiful journalist Winter Capwell, who interviewed him during one summer when she did a feature on the Dare brothers. They had a short fling that ended when her interviews ended. They met later again, on a Halloween party, had a little bonus night and then they’re done. Except, they can’t stop thinking about the other.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Winter meets up with Nikki and Derek Bettencourt and shares astonishing news. And as if that wasn’t enough turmoil, she finds herself pregnant with Harrison’s baby!

It’s a lot of news and a lot of family interaction. It’s super cute to find two sisters in love with two Dare brothers. For Winter, it’s a huge change in status, an orphan who never had a family, now she’s surrounded by a huge and loud family. No wonder she had a panic attack!

It was a lovely love story and a lovely family story. The Dares are a huge bunch, the Bettencourts are smaller in comparison but they have a ton of issues that also explode in this story. The Kingstons are always present because they are close friends and are connected by Nick and Aurora’s marriage. It’s a great mixup and I love everyone!

Hugely entertaining, spiced with a little suspense, completely drenched in love, steamy moments, family love and a cute little Havanese dog called Panda, to whom everyone caters to. Someone special appears a lot in this story, Zach, the last remaining bachelor in the Dare family and I can’t wait to read his story!
