I truly enjoyed reading Kismet by Carly Phillips, book two in her Serendipity series, an updated reissue of an earlier story. This second chance romance is fast paced but filled with passion, regret, love and forgiveness. Elisabetta (Lissa) Gardelli and Trevor Dane’s story is filled with chemistry but also laced with past memories, bringing anger and hurt to the surface. This is the second book in the series. This is Lissa's story. We got to know her in the previous book where she wasn't too nice, but we realized the truth with the help of Faith and Kate. I was eager for this one because it's a single mom romance, but I will be honest I wish her little girl Livvy was in it more. This was a great second romance. Lissa's new assignment puts her in long lost love's orbit. Trevor is in for a shock when the one who got away pops back into his life.

Reconnecting on all levels them embark on a weekend of re discovery, however Trevor pulls back, uncertain if he can look at Lissa’s daughter and not remember that she exists because she married another man. Trevor needs to do some serious soul searching and once he does he realizes what is really important and that is Alissa and her daughter. Their journey was emotion; and entertaining and was a good addition to the series.

Carly Phillips, whose real name is Karen Drogin, was born on July 7, 1965 in New York. She received an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. She eventually became a lawyer, but never really enjoyed practicing law. After having her first child, she decided she wanted to write a romance novel. Seven years later, she sold her first book, Brazen, to Harlequin Temptation. She is now the best-selling author of numerous romances including Simply Sinful, The Playboy, Summer Lovin', Hot Property, Cross My Heart, and Lucky Break.
