Lucky streak
Unbelievably stupid. A detective meets a girl in Vegas, marries her within hours, wins a lot of cash, she runs off with it and gambles away half with her con ex-partner, runs from the
man she cheated, and tracks down her husband to live a happy life. Worse the husband sleeps with her within hours of her return and lets her borrow his car. He shouldn’t have been written as a detective but as a lonely, gullible, and desperate man. All the exclamation points were really annoying...was she five? I couldn’t finish this book. You know they get together and the beginning was just too stupid for me.
My favorite in the Lucky series
This was my favorite of the Lucky books. I adored Amber and the person that she is. My heart ached for her in spots and I wanted to knock Mike up side the head. She is such a strong heroine who has been dealt a bad hand. I love Mike and his crazy family. In this book we get to see how close Mike is to his crazy dad and that he does want the best for him. When he and Amber end up married after a crazy weekend, he knows that he needs to walk away and they are too different. Amber falls fast and hard and before Mike realizes it, he loves Amber, too. It just take him a little while to figure that out. Stubborn man! Loved this one!
