This was another good read from Carly Phillips. I loved the strong characters. Kayla was a strong independent woman. Kane is a cop on a mission to prove if Kayla’s etiquette school is or is not a front for prostitution. One dinner leads to a hot night of pleasure. But once Kane realizes Kayla’s in danger everything changes. I enjoyed this read and recommend it. You can never go wrong with a Carly Phillips book. And HEA is always my favorite to read.

This is book one in The Simply series and it features Kayla Luck and Kane McDermott. She’s sensible and very beautiful but doesn’t know it. He’s big and sexy but the amount of baggage he carries from his past, won’t let him lead any normal kind of life. She took over the family business after her aunt passed away. She never thought anything shady could be connected to it until Detective Kane McDermott walked in. Their chemistry was instantaneous! There’s a lot of push and pull from Kane that, in my opinion, drug on too long. The story line is good. The characters are fantastic! Overall this book was enjoyable to read. Looking forward to book 2.

I thought that this was a very enjoyable read. I found it really easy to like and feel for Kayla and Kane. The obvious attraction and sparks between them quickly had me rooting for these two in the tempting dance of duty and desire they were locked in. The story grabbed and held my attention well and the blend of romance, suspense, drama and heat delivered more than enough feels to keep this reader happy. This is my freely posted frank review

Carly Phillips, whose real name is Karen Drogin, was born on July 7, 1965 in New York. She received an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. She eventually became a lawyer, but never really enjoyed practicing law. After having her first child, she decided she wanted to write a romance novel. Seven years later, she sold her first book, Brazen, to Harlequin Temptation.
