Love it or Hate it?

I know I’ve been slacking here and I’m sorry! I’ll try to do better. Question for today.
This year I won’t be home for Halloween. I’ll be in Florida … wonder if my house there gets trick or treaters? Guess I’ll be finding out.

HALLOWEEN – LOVE IT OR HATE IT?
Me? Hate it (if I have to pick one). Dressing up not my thing and doorbell ringing, dogs barking not either. Add the candy in the house I can’t or shouldn’t eat … Yeah. Hate it.

  1. Not a huge fan. Having kids makes it hard though because they want to do what all the others kids are doing!

  2. Dressing up is not my thing either but I have 2 small kids and they love it. I am like you, I don’t need the candy so I usually let the kids pick their favorites then take the rest to work. If it is in my house I will eat it and my hips don’t need the extra calories! :halloween:

  3. Never was into Halloween and neither was my son. He dressed up for school parties but only went trick or treating a few times – figured I could always buy the candy he wanted! I work in a school office and we dress up every Halloween and the office and interns usually have a theme so there’s no getting around it.

  4. Love it!!! H
owever, for the past few years I have only had a few kids ring my doorbell. Most of the kids are grown, and there are a lot of Orthodox Jewish folks in my neighborhood who do not celebrate Halloween.

  5. down to the last child and will be glad when he’s done. I like the rest of Autumn, but Halloween is not my thing.

  6. I used to go all out and decorate. I have 10 totes filled with decorations. My children are all grown now. About 10 years ago I went on vacation the week of Halloween, loved the place so much I now ho every year. Same place. :halloween:

  7. Love it!!! Use to dress up for work but not so much now. I just love seeing the little kids in costumes. They are so happy and excited to tell you who they are. :halloween:

  8. I absolutely abhor the scary, sickening, bloody, creepy stuff. I don’t like scary movies or seeing monsters on TV. BUT, I do love seeing the little kids when they dress up in their cute little costumes. I don’t give out candy anymore because I don’t like sitting out in the cold, but the kids make me smile.

  9. I was never a big fan of dressing up as a kid. But I do like to watch other people get all dressed up in funny costumes.

  10. I like it. I love seeing the kids in their cute costumes. What I don’t like is teenagers coming to my door.

  11. :halloween: As my son was born on the 25th of October, I’ve been in Halloween mode. But now he is older, so I don’t bother with it.

  12. I am very mixed! It was almost more stressful than fun sometimes when my kids were little (daughter has some problems). It was fun making their costumes when they were really little, but I don’t miss it really. We live on a side street and don’t get many kids here (usually less than a dozen) so I don’t mind the door thing (I don’t dress up, lol) and I love seeing the little kids. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Oh I wanted to say I don’t mind the teenagers coming to my door even though my teenager wouldn’t be caught dead doing that, but there are way worse things they could be doing.

  14. :witch: It is both for me. I love seeing the little kids all dressed up. Reminds me when it use to be my girls. But I also don’t like it because my brother died on Oct 31 in 2004…stupid cancer.

  15. I love Halloween! Fall and Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I love the changing colors in the leaves, the cooler air and my family loves to decorate for Halloween. I love horror movies, haunted houses, candy, decorating…the whole nine yards. And it’s more fun now since my nephew is old enough to enjoy Halloween this time around! :bat2: :halloween:

  16. I loved dressing up for my only GRANDdaughter’s birthday parties but Halloween? Not so much. I don’t get TOTrs anymore because I live on a farm and all the kids who live around here are older and don’t really do the TOT thing. Something they do in this little down that is safer is load the back of their cars with treats and converge on the local elementary school parking lot so the kids are safer. It’s called trunk and treating. My preference? The adult trick or drink!! Adults carry their own glasses!

  17. :mummy2: :bat2: :devilbanana: :bat2: :ghost: :halloween: :witch: :happybirthday3: :jackolantern: :mummy: :spider: :witch: Halloween is my favorite holiday. I enjoy being someone else or something. It’s a fun time, parties, costumes, food. Thank you.

  18. I hate it too. I try never to be home on that day. When my kids were little, I had to get bought costumes because I couldn’t make anything. Hated that.

  19. Not one to get dressed up – I have a black, long sleeved Tshirt that says”Mummy” that I used to wear to my kids school Halloween parties. Oh, and skeleton earrings (4 1/2 inches long) that I still wear on the day, but I have to say, I loved getting my kids dressed up and taking them out, also seeing the little ones come to the house. Now, though, the local kids would rather go to a housing development than trek around my semi rural village where houses are far apart and it’s dark. Last few years no trea
    ters!

  20. Love Halloween, but I have lived so far out in the country for 35 years and have never had a trick-or- treater. ๐Ÿ™

  21. I loved to watch the little kids come to the door however there seems to be less and less young families in the neighborhoods where I tend to live. I’m with you, though — I don’t like to dress up. And we’ve always sat outside the front door so as not to disturb our cat(s). Cut them off at the pass! So I’m not a big fan of the holiday anymore. Wait. Does this make me that old and cranky neighbor??? ๐Ÿ˜€

  22. I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. Hate dressing up and since my birthday is so close, people think a costume party is the way to celebrate. Luckily I don’t usually have kids stop by my apartment, so I don’t have to buy candy.

  23. Tolerate it. I enjoy the trick or treaters, and it is an excuse to have fun and snacks at work. Fortunately, costumes are optional. Some years I dress up, others just wear something orange and/or black.

  24. My kids love it (well, now except my middle guy) and it’s fun to see the costumes. My middle guy now hands out the candy, so that makes my life easier. I’m mixed about it.

  25. I hate it too. When my son was little it was fun to dress him up and watch him enjoy running from house to house and doing his trick or treat thing. He is 18 now and not so much into it anymore =) I don’t need the candy in my house either and we don’t get that many trick or treaters at my house since the neighborhood kids are all older.
