Rain!

Sorry! Went out for dinner with friends last night and I guess I got distracted so … late blog! It is POURING here in NY. I mean torrential flooding rain. I have to tell you guys, I HATE rain. On the other hand, I love snow. I loved being snowed in, no school in the mornings, white fluffy stuff outside. I don’t know if it’s because of the hair thing in the rain … well can’t be because snow is water and does the same icky thing to hair. Couldn’t tell you why. You guys? Love rainy days? Hate rainy days?

  1. If I am at home with a good book I love rainy days. Any other time no I don’t like rainy days! It is sunny in Houston (right now) but as they say in Houston…wait 5 minutes and the weather will change! Have a great day Carly!!!

  2. raining here in massachusetts. we are in flood zone; as a companion for a lady with alzheimers, i have to get her up, dressed, etc. then take her to day care for noon; today i have to pick her up late in the afternoon to drive her home. and the torrential rains/t-storms, etc will be occurring 12-6 (have 1/2 hr from my home to hers)-another 100 mile day. hope my rain-x works! be safe

  3. I love the rain if I am at home curled up with a great book, otherwise not so much. Same with snow. If I didn’t have to get out and drive in the snow, it wouldn’t be bad. I live in Kansas, and usually we get a layer of ice before the snow, not fun. Today it’s supposed to be sunny and unseasonably cool for this time of summer. Yay!!

  4. Yes, I like an occasional rainy day. And, please send some of that rain to Alabama, we could use some.

    Thank you,
    G

  5. Give me rain any day! Especially if I don’t have anywhere to go and can curl up with a good read, don’t lose power or spring a leak in the basement.
I am so NOT a snow person but alas have lived in NY and CT and had my share of storms.

  6. I like rain when I don’t have to drive. Too many people forget how to drive in it in N. Tx (slow down a little). We sure could use some in this area though! We don’t get much snow here, so we appreciate it when we do, but it too quickly melts and refreezes into ice on the roads, which causes a whole new level of problems.

  7. I love rainy days as long as I have a good book to read… and I am never without a good book… and I don’t have to go out in the rain…

  8. Same here, POURING rain! I hate rain, but like you, I prefer to be snowed in with a roaring fire, good book and a glass of wine!!! Everything is right in the world.

  9. I’m in San Diego. Not much rain here at all. I like rain if I don’t have to go out either. I think it’s the hair thing too!! Lol

  10. I love rainy days! I guess I have to living in the PNW. I love the sound on the windows. Now, humidity don’t get me started on!

  11. I much prefer snow to rain. Miss snow a bunch, as FL doesn’t happen to have any. Miss the mountains in GA, Washington state and northern Idaho. We had snow often in all 3 states.
Frizzy hair is a problem, but snow is awesome anyway.

  12. I am in total agreement with you- I dislike rain but love snow. Nothing like watching it snow in your pjs and drinking hot chocolate with a blazing fire, curled up on my couch with my kindle- heaven on earth!

  13. I don’t really care for rainy days either. We got that storm yesterday.

It was funny, one of my kids said yesterday that she loves rainy does because she figured that means you are suppose to be lazy and do nothing!

  14. Rainy days are always soothing to me — however living in the southwest now, it means we ALWAYS need it! We are in monsoon season, though, so these days, when it rains, I cross my fingers that I’ll be safe and sound when it starts. Don’t wanna see my car, and me (!), float away.

  15. LOL .. Summer in Orlando – thunderstorms every afternoon. I love them – the thunder, lightning, wind, watching the rain come down in buckets.

  16. We finally got rain here in the PNW! I love it and we needed it so badly. The trick with rain is to have a hairdo that works with rain. I have naturally curly hair that turns naturally wavy in the rain. Then when it dries it’s back to naturally curly! Of course this only happened when I got my shoulder length hair cut short. For some reason it curled tightly and now I can’t even blow dry it out:( Gotta love Washington State!!

  17. It depends. I don’t mind gentle rains, but the thunder & lightning scares me. Torrential downpours make me fear flooding. Gentle rains make me want to cuddle up with a good book & read as well as listen to the pitter patter on my roof. I do like snow, as long as I don’t have to shovel it.

  18. Love the sound of a soft rain when I can stay indoors. When I worked, I hated rain because I had to ride the bus and heavy rains got me wet enough that it took over 2 hours for my jeans and sneakers to be almost dry.

  19. Major flooding on LI this morning. Luckily, I didn’t have to deal with floods, only the resulting traffic delays. I was happy to see the rain, because the grass was getting dry, but it the heavy downpour was a pain.
